Schedule: 4 days a week

MissionVet is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Cardiologist to establish and lead Cardiology services within our growing specialty hospital. With a strong cardiology caseload in the San Antonio area and an opportunity to become the hospital's dedicated full-time Cardiologist, this role offers the chance to shape the service while joining an established, highly collaborative team.

You'll also have the opportunity to help select ECG and echocardiography equipment and collaborate with experienced specialists in Surgery & Orthopedics, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Oncology, and Emergency Medicine. MissionVet offers advanced diagnostic and surgical resources, including 1.5T MRI, 16-slice CT, digital radiography, C-arm fluoroscopy, and dedicated 24/7 care for hospitalized patients.

In your day-to-day, you will:
• Establish and lead MissionVet's Cardiology service.
• Provide comprehensive cardiac evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for a diverse referral caseload.
• Help select and implement ECG and echocardiography equipment to support the development of the service.
• Collaborate closely with Surgery & Orthopedics, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Oncology, Emergency Medicine, and other specialty teams.
• Work alongside surgeons experienced in PDA ligation and pacemaker placement.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic and imaging capabilities including CT, MRI, digital radiography, and C-arm fluoroscopy.
• Develop strong relationships with referring veterinarians and help establish MissionVet as a destination for advanced cardiac care in the San Antonio community.
• Contribute to the continued growth and development of the hospital's specialty services.
• Participate in mentorship, case collaboration, and continuing education.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients while providing exceptional patient care.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.
What You Bring
• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
• Board Certification in Cardiology or Residency Trained in Cardiology and pursuing board certification.
• Strong clinical skills and a passion for providing advanced cardiac care.
• An entrepreneurial mindset and enthusiasm for establishing and growing a Cardiology service.
• Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to building strong relationships with referring veterinarians.
• A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine.
